Year 12 podcast trip to Helsingborg

Fahrt nach Helsingborg

We had to wait a long time for a continuation of our European podcast project; it was also unclear for a long time whether the pandemic would allow a meeting of all project participants from England, the Netherlands and the Klax School in the Swedish Västra Berga Skola in Helsingborg. But the wait and the patience were worth it, we had a great international exchange.

What will probably be remembered? Was the look behind the scenes at Ikea a highlight, where they explained to us how Ikea wants to save the world, but couldn't answer our critical questions? Or was it a tour of a district that is being spruced up as a European showcase and is supposed to stand as a model for modern integration and urban development? Or the visits to Dunkers Kulturhaus, with its exhibitions on migration and gender reality? Maybe it was the evening at school, where the parents of the Swedish pupils conjured up a fabulous buffet with delicacies from all over the world and served it up for us? Or was it the evening at the campfire behind our hikers' hostel, where we made ourselves comfortable with stick bread and singing together?

And we also produced podcasts! Since we got to know each other so well, it was easy to discuss topics like "Future Home" or "Democracy and Society".

One thing is certain: the anticipation of another joint meeting with the friends in the European podcast project, which hopefully can take place in spring.
