On 16 June, our school was all about recycling, repairing and reusing. On the Upcycling Day, our Maker Team offered exciting upcycling projects for the whole school on the schoolyard and in the Makerspace. At various stations, the students were able to learn about types of plastic, waste separation and reuse of recyclables and work on their own projects. The focus was always on how to creatively reuse a used object and save resources in the process. Besides a bird house, growing pots for plants, bound books with recycled covers, snap hooks made of recycled plastic and bag prints with environmental messages, many creative products were created.
The students have also been working on sustainability, recycling and the circular economy. As part of the Erasmus + partnership, we were supported by three maker colleagues from Valencia who brought us exciting maker ideas from Spain. We are happy about the great interest from the classes and continue to build our upcycling products in the Makerspace.
