On a project trip to the Golden City

Prague has been one of the most beautiful cities in Europe since the Middle Ages. With its shimmering golden sandstone towers, the capital of the Czech Republic has made a name for itself as the "Golden City". Today, up to 30,000 people visit the idyllic alleys of Prague's Old Town, the Jewish quarter or the Gothic Charles Bridge every day. Our 8th graders also enjoyed a week in Prague. In addition to numerous sights, we discovered Czech culture together on the project trip.

After arriving and moving into our accommodation, we started in the historical centre of Prague. And there was a lot to see there: On a guided tour of the Old Town, our students visited the famous Wenceslas Square, the Astronomical Clock and the Charles Bridge. A walk through the idyllic narrow streets of the historic city centre was also a must. The tour continued the next day with a guided tour of Prague Castle. This has been an important symbol of the Czech Republic for a thousand years and is considered the cultural and political centre of the city. On Thursday, we delved into the Jewish history of Prague. In the Jewish Quarter, we visited important synagogues and the old Jewish cemetery and learned more about Jewish culture in the Czech Republic. In addition to the most important sights, the students also got to know Prague culture and Czech cuisine - and returned to Berlin with many new impressions and pictures.
