Impressions from the Maker Fair
Twice a year our students present their construction and design projects to the school team and their fellow students at the Maker Fair in the Makerspace at Klax School. The last event took place on 9 July 2025, and the results were impressive!
During the Maker Fair, our Makerspace becomes a hub for innovation, teamwork, and creativity. All classes were invited to admire the exhibition and find inspiration. There were projects from the Creative Hub, working groups, studio lessons and project weeks to explore. The variety of work demonstrated not only technical skills, but also great enthusiasm for tinkering, programming and designing.
For instance, the Maker & Design course produced its own table games, including an intricate chessboard and an imaginative table football game. The architectural models also made an impression, ranging from miniature houses to futuristic buildings. The coding course showcased innovative ideas: A smart rubbish bin that opens without being touched attracted a lot of attention. Another highlight was the mechatronics head — a robot with self-developed AI called FRIDAY that can talk and answer questions.
The working groups also presented their work, including that of the school's own TV station, TF Fernsehen, which regularly produces videos and interviews documenting projects and events. In addition, pictures and costumes created during the theatre project week were exhibited. These were made with great creativity and craftsmanship.
The Makermesse is more than just an exhibition; it is a vibrant hub for ideas, enthusiasm and pride. Many thanks to everyone involved — we are already looking forward to the next one!
