The 5th grade on a visit to the Löwenzahn commercial kitchen

What route does the food take before it ends up in the school cafeteria? What is a commercial kitchen and how does healthy nutrition actually work?

On 16.11.2021, year 5 pupils visited the wholefood caterer Löwenzahn to find answers to these questions. They got an insight into the work in a commercial kitchen, learned about different foods, preparation methods and the food pyramid. They also prepared a menu themselves, which they ate together in the end.

A pupil reports:

"We had an exciting day at Löwenzahn. We learned a lot about nutrition and food, e.g. which products can make you fat, which are particularly important for growth and looked at the food pyramid. Afterwards, we also chopped fruit and vegetables ourselves in groups, cooked and fried for all we were worth.
Our effort was very worthwhile: our self-prepared three-course meal spoke for itself - it was super delicious. We were full, happy and very proud of ourselves."
