A Successful Conclusion to Autumn Project Week in Glorious Weather
On October 18, 2024, the traditional Autumn Market crowned Klax School’s Fall Project Week in Berlin. Under a bright, sunny sky, numerous market stalls displayed handcrafted products for sale that students had created over the past four days. From wooden birdhouses and embroidered bags to autumn kites and upcycled fashion, the market offered a broad array of creative and sustainable items.
As in previous years, the parent council provided enthusiastic support, organizing a cake buffet that contributed significantly to the market's success. For the first time, the school also hosted a Klax cake competition, which was very well received.
We were especially honored to welcome Ms. Christina Ihle, CEO of the Afghan Women's Association. Together with our principal, Mr. Stephen Kelly, she opened the Fall Market and later held a presentation and discussion session. In this gathering, she provided attendees with insights into the challenging situation facing girls and women in Afghanistan and highlighted the urgent need for support.
As in past years, the proceeds from the sale of products and cakes will be donated to the Afghan Women's Association, which supports our partner school in Afghanistan, the Roschani Girls’ School, and to the Klax Pedagogical Development Society.
This year, we are pleased to report that over €8,000 in donations were raised. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making the Fall Market such a success.
