Sustainability, Equality, and Creativity in Focus
From October 14 to 17, 2024, Klax School in Berlin dedicated its annual Autumn Project Week to creative product development. In numerous workshops, students explored various techniques and crafted self-designed products over four days. The goal was to expand interdisciplinary knowledge by engaging with topics such as research, knowledge reflection, and developing new questions.
The week emphasized sustainability and equality, inspired by two of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals: Gender Equality (Goal 5) and Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal 12). Our students delved into the challenges of sustainable production and gained insights into our partner school, Roschani in Ghazni, which enables Afghan girls to access education.
During this time, students created a wide variety of unique and carefully crafted products, which they proudly presented at the subsequent Fall Market. These included wooden tealight holders, mosaic coasters, bracelets, necklaces, colorful animal pompoms, and many other creative works.
The “Documentation” workshop group produced a teaser film for the project week, capturing the four days from the students’ perspective.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their dedicated efforts!
