The Klax School student company “Second Life Plastic Berlin” is the overall winner of the JUNIOR Berlin 2024 state competition. The award ceremony took place on 14 May 2024 in the Haus der Wirtschaft with State Secretary Michael Biel.
As part of the nationwide ‘JUNIOR’ project, students develop a complete business cycle within one school year - from the business idea to planning and implementation. The aim is to awaken and promote the entrepreneurial spirit of young people. With their outstanding overall concept, the students from the Klax School impressed the jury of business and education experts and won the title of best JUNIOR company in Berlin. By founding their company ‘Second Life Plastic’, the dedicated kids have set themselves the goal of developing sustainable products and thus making a positive contribution to reducing plastic waste. Their creative business idea is to recycle plastic and use it to make everyday objects and utensils themselves. A spinning top and an ‘all-purpose clip’ have already been developed, with more products to follow.
At the beginning of June, they will move on to the JUNIOR national competition in Frankfurt am Main, where they will compete against the winners of the other state competitions. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
