The highlight of the project week: The big autumn market

Kinder verkaufen Produkte am Marktstand

Once again this year, the traditional autumn market was the highlight of the project week. After four intensive days, on Friday 20 October it was time for a final polish on the products, decorating the market stalls and then looking forward to the opening full of anticipation. At 3 p.m. the time had come: our headmaster Mr Kelly and programme manager Mr Mattschull ceremoniously opened the autumn market and the visitors streamed through the market - despite the rainy, cold autumn weather. This year, too, there was a large selection of very different high-quality products to choose from: Besides homemade soaps and candles, there were creative design lamps made of wood, loop scarves, autumnal flower wreaths, printed cotton bags and much more to choose from.

A total of 7,705 euros was raised, which will benefit our partner school in Afghanistan, the Roschani Girls' School, and the school support association. A group of pupils used the project week to deal with everyday life (at school) in Afghanistan and the current situation there. We were all the more pleased that Dr. Kaltenborn, a representative of the Afghan Women's Association, came to the Autumn Market to talk to the pupils and tell them about her work there.

We would like to thank all the parents who donated cakes or helped with the sale of home-made cakes.
