The Makerspace invited to the second Maker Fair of the school year at the end of July. In the schoolyard, the games developed in the Maker & Design lessons for the primary school were on display and could be tested directly by the pupils. Especially exciting were the target throwing & skill games, but also recreated games classics like Viking chess, a sports wheel of fortune, ring toss and mini golf. Of course, the school company 2LifePlasticBerlin was not to be missed, which demonstrated on site how plastic lids were shredded and transformed into new products. At the same time, the miniature coding projects of the middle school on the topic of "SmartHome" were exhibited in the Makerspace. The greatest enthusiasm was generated by an alarm system that catapulted the entire bed into the vertical position when the bell rang, and the sleeping Lego figure right along with it. Another project with a home alarm system was about to be realized, sending push messages to the smartphone. All projects were submitted to the Digitaltalente competition, which will be evaluated in the fall of 2023. The elementary school also had its stage in the Makerspace and presented itself with Micro:Bit Aracade games and repair projects of the Makerspace-AG.
The crowning glory of the Maker Fair was the biannual robotics competition, this time in the “RoboPaint” category, in which the self-programmed robots had to leave behind a work of art. A total of 10 students competed with different models. Starting with brush robots, over pen holding MBots, to a self 3D printed Arduino XY plotter by Perry from 2a, which also won the main prize of the competition with so much effort. Congratulations! The Maker Fair was once again a great success and offers a great opportunity every six months to give the tinkering projects of the school community a stage.
