On November 11, six students from the Klax School learned how valuable a life in a democracy is. On the occasion of the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Berlin Wall Foundation, the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship and the Berlin Senate Department organized the 10th “Schüler-Mauerlauf”.
The run started at the Oberbaumbrücke and led past the Eastside Gallery to the visitor center of the Berlin Wall Foundation on Bernauer Straße. Along the way, the students passed impressive testimonies of this time. In addition to the challenge of running the 12-kilometer part of the former Berlin Wall together, the young people answered tricky questions about Germany's recent history at 10 stations.
The award ceremony was held by the patron of the Wall Run and former GDR civil rights activist Rainer Eppelmann.
Congratulations on your successful participation.
