German School Award 2021
Our school was the only Berlin school to make it into the final round of the German School Award. Decisive for the nomination was our unique concept in distance learning and our excellent support for families in the lockdown. With our concept of learners developing digital solutions themselves as "future makers", we have shown why school community is so important at our school. Thus, dealing with the pandemic became a project for the entire school community. This impressed the jury.
"We are very happy about this recognition," says our head teacher Stephen Kelly, "out of more than 400 applications - including international ones - we are among the finalists. This is already a huge success and - a great confirmation of our work."
The Robert Bosch Foundation describes the 18 nominees for the German School Award 20/21 Special as "beacons in the crisis". On 10 May, the Bundespräsident (Federal President) and patron Frank-Walter Steinmeier will present the award.
