In order for the pupils to have a pleasant start after the summer holidays and to get to know their learning environment, the Klax school traditionally starts the new school year with an encounter week. Each day is dedicated to a special theme that helps the pupils to get back into the school routine. At the same time, social togetherness is strengthened through joint activities that all grades do together. A central part of the week is the development of the common values that form the basis of the social community. Together with the learning facilitators, the pupils have dealt with the values of solidarity, curiosity, attentiveness and trust and have jointly defined how they want to learn and interact at school.
These sentences form the value basis for the entire school community for the school year 2023/2024:
Solidarity
We support each other so that everyone has an enjoyable day at school.
Curiosity
We are always eager to learn new things and gain new knowledge to continually grow, learn and question the world around us.
Awareness
We are mindful of our fellow human beings, the learning environment and the other people's belongings, so that everyone feels valued and appreciated.
Trust
We are trusting, courteous and honest with each other so that we may continue to strengthen our school community.
The culmination of the week is the traditional school competition on Fridays. This year, the students had the task of inventing their "dream AG". During the morning, the classes used their time to describe the Dream AG according to certain criteria such as added value for the school community, core values, target group, type of learning support and material requirements. This resulted in presentations, podcasts and videos, which were viewed by a selected jury. In the afternoon, the big award ceremony took place in the schoolyard.
Congratulations go to this year's winning classes:
Class 4b with "The Klax Market AG"
The Market AG is a swap meet for books, clothes and things that are no longer needed. This AG supports the concept of sustainable living: by exchanging old things, less material is used, which in turn has an impact on the environment.
Class 9a with the "Dolmetscher AG"
"The borders of my language are the borders of my world": The aim of this group is to overcome language barriers in order to facilitate communication in everyday school life for all pupils, regardless of their age group. This strengthens social interaction.
A big thank you goes to all the classes who created their dream workshops with great commitment and creative ideas.
