Project trip of class 9 to Denmark
In the penultimate week of February, the 9th graders stayed in the south of Denmark for an exciting project trip. Our partner school in Tinglev provided us with the space so that our 9th graders could try life in a boarding school for a week. The beautiful rooms of the German and Danish boarding school students became the home of our young people for a week. The spacious sports facilities, the fitness area and the school's own cinema were popular places to spend the afternoon. The project trip to Tinglev/Denmark dealt with historical and contemporary issues. The students also went on excursions to the German North Schleswig Museum in Sonderborg, the Trapholt Museum in Kolding and the Maritime Museum in Flensburg. The students discovered the exciting history of the German-Danish border region and the history, identity and culture of the people in the minority area in Denmark. The CONNECT ME exhibition at the Trapholt Museum focused on our relationships with and with the world. Many exhibits were interactive and had a lasting fascination for the students. In the exhibition on the colonial history of Denmark, the students examined the triangular trade between Flensburg, Africa and the Caribbean on various issues. Topics were the inhumane slavery, the production of sugar and rum, as well as the current conditions in the old colonial areas in the Caribbean. On the trip, the students got to know the cities of Sonderborg, Kolding and Flensburg.
